Abstract

The aim of the review is to assess the Q fever situation in the Russian Federation based on official registration data and analysis of the epidemiological situation during 2013–2024, excluding the data for 2020 and 2021, the period of anti-epidemic measures to prevent COVID-19, and to determine the current aspects of the fight against this infection. The epidemic potential of Q fever in Russia and other countries, where an increase in the activity of its foci is observed, is evaluated. The regions of the Russian Federation with unfavorable Q fever status are ranked based on the incidence rates of registered cases. The incidence of Q fever in the Russian Federation in 2024 is analyzed and forecasts for 2025 are provided for affected territories. The paper presents an analysis of the results of Q fever monitoring in the Stavropol, Altai, Primorsky Territories, Astrakhan, Rostov and Omsk Regions in 2024. Proposals are made to clarify and stabilize the epidemiological situation on Q fever.
